FREDERICK SCHOOL OF RELIGION CELEBRATES

On March 9, 2008, the Frederick School of Religion will celebrate 25 years of providing religious education with a program at Brook Hill United Methodist Church. This program, which begins at 3:00 p.m., will consist of liturgical dance, storytelling, and musical presentations, with a bit of history woven into the program. All of this will be followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. So come to Brook Hill UMC, 8946 Indian Springs Road, at 3:00 p.m. on March 9 to help celebrate 25 years of discovery and growth.  The Frederick School of Religion was started by a small group of volunteers and instructors in 1983. The organization has expanded such that this year it is able to present ten courses, covering topics such as some lost Christianities, basic Judaism, Sharia law, presidential politics and spiritual growth. This growth in offerings has been made possible through the support of many local faith communities as they hosted the School, provided members for the Board of Directors, and informed their congregations of each year’s courses.

WOMEN'S SHARE GROUP

I would like to invite you to our home for a ten-week support/share group. This will be a spiritual adventure using the book - Becomers by Keith Miller. It is an easy to read book that invites us to take a look at the process of becoming the Christian that God wants us to become. This is not a Bible study but will certainly include scripture, prayers, and time for the women involved to support each other. I don't know about you but so often, I find myself not taking the time to “nourish my heart.” Being honest with other women about doubts, questions and spiritual needs/joys are all apart of our journey together. The Group runs February 2 through April 15th If you are interested, please call Bonnie Connolly at 301-845-6356.

The Walkersville Seniors meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Walkersville Town Hall. The Center offers exercise, music, crafts, games, and fellowship. The Cozy Restaurant serves lunch on Tuesday and Trout's Restaurant on Thursday. For more information, please contact either Rena Shry on 301-662-3449 or Margaret Dougherty on 301-845-4236.
