Children's Ministries...

Fall programming is well under way in the Children’s Ministry.  Sunday School has begun with a very dedicated group of teachers.  Each month in Sunday School there is a theme and a memory verse.  All children, preschool through 5th grade, will be learning the same theme and memory verse.  This month the theme is “imagine” and the memory verse is “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2:10.  The lesson in October is to have the children understand that they “were created, so you can be creative.”  Each Sunday your child will bring home a God Time paper they can work on over the week.  Spend some time talking with your child about what they are learning each week.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Festival and our 8th Annual Trunk-or-Treat!  This is always a fun event.  All ages are invited to come out decorate your car and have fun seeing all of the fun costumes.  Please remember nothing too scary.  A special thanks to Christie Berkey for all of her help with the Trunk-or-Treat!  God bless everyone and have a wonderful October!

A: If he held up both, he’d fall down

NEW FRIENDS

This morning,

when I started school,

I met a girl

named Betty Lou

And she met me --

That made us two.

Then, both of us

met Anne Marie --

And that made three.

Then, Paul came running

through the door --

Now, the three of us

are four --

And I can't wait to meet some more!

—Patricia Hubbell —

I would like to take this opportunity to say how much the WNS staff and I enjoyed meeting and greeting our new and returning families this past month. As we entered our 37 year, there were some tears from both children and adults alike but everyone quickly settled into their routines.

We feel blessed that we are able to partner with some many wonderful families in their child’s education.  We are looking forward to working with them to ensure that their child has a wonderful school experience. Our entire staff sincerely cares about each child and plans very carefully for each child to meet with success and to instill a lifetime love of learning. We are all dedicated to providing a Christian atmosphere where love and acceptance are demonstrated by our words and our actions.  ~Monica Crone, Director WNS

KID CONNECTION

PJ SMITH

After a hot, hot summer the school-agers are talking about the pleasures of the fall season.  [football, Trick-or-Treat, and wearing cool boots]  Our young artists are drawing pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns already.  The FCPS conference days in late October will give our students some extra time away from school and an opportunity for a field trip to the pumpkin patch.  If you or someone you know is looking for before and/or after school care please contact PJ Smith at 301-845-4282.

WNS will be offering many enrichment programs beginning in October.  Please contact Monica Crone for more information at 301-845-4282.  {Accelerated Reading, Accelerated Math, Music, Soccer Shots, and Lunch Bunch are a few of the many choices to be offered.}
