Weekday Nursery School

Our Program

Programs are offered for children ages two through five.  (A listing of current programs and fees is included in this booklet.)  Fees are paid on the first session of each month; checks should be made payable to Walkersville United Methodist Church.  A $50.00 nonrefundable registration fee and first month tuition is due at registration.  A supply and activity fee of $50 is due at first class meeting.  Group size is limited to no more than 10 children.  As required by the state, a health inventory, immunization record and emergency information card must be on file for each child in attendance.  (Forms are provided by MSDE.)

 Morning programs meet from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

 Afternoon programs meet from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

 Lunch Bunch meets from 11:30am until 12:30pm

 Summer programs include a weeklong day camp for graduating 3’s and 4’s.

 Walkersville United Methodist Church also sponsors Kid Connection, a school-age before and after school program.  This program is also offered full time during the school holidays and Summer months.  Children must be entering grades K-5.  Call 301-845-4282 for more information.

Program Descriptions

YOUNG 3’S:  These programs are designed to be a mixed age group for children ages two or three years.  Supervised play, art and craft activities, and alternating quiet and active times describe a bit of the routine.  Our group is limited to 8 to 10 children with a group leader and aide.  Children must be three years old by March 2010.  Toilet training is not required.  Disposable diapers are supplied by the parent, as needed.  Group meets one or two half-days per week.

PROGRAM FOR THREES:  The three’s classes meet 2 or 3 half days per week.  Groups are limited to 8 children per group.  To be eligible for the threes, a child must be three years old by September 1, 2009.  Older threes must be three years old by July 1, 2009.  Toilet training is required.

PROGRAM FOR FOURS AND PRE-K:  Groups are limited to 10 children per group.  The child must be four by September 1, 2009.  Toilet training is also required.  Groups meet three or five half-days per week.  No children may attend both morning and afternoon on the same day.  We are licensed for half-days only.

         Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

         Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
         ($85 per month)

         Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
         ($125 per month)                             12:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Fours

         Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
         ($125 per month)                             12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Pre-K

         Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
         ($175 per month)    12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

*Checks should be made payable to WUMC with child’s name and class noted.

If two children from the same family are enrolled, the second child’s fees are reduced by 20 percent.

If a child is absent from school due to illness for more than half the class sessions, fee is reduced by one-half for the month.  A doctor’s note is required.
