ASP MOMENT FROM MOM:

You know, when I first came here, ASP was something MY children did. As I said, I had not gone with them because there were 3 other’s still at home who needed me with them. One year when Darell, Devin and Janice went, they came home and told me about how wonderful everything was and I was kind of jealous that I was not able to share this with them. Last year, I went and it was nice. This year , I went and because I got to rotate I was able to spend time with all the families that we serviced and it was AMAZING !!!!!!! The youth were so kind and loving to these people whom they did not know and the people were so warm and welcoming and thankful. One family told me that she appreciated this so much because she knew that her daughter could never have gotten this work done with out ASP. When we look for reasons why we do what we do and when we say we can’t because of the cost, we need to think and look again because the reward we get back from the people we meet and help is well worth the cost.

And I have to say, I am PROUD to be the Youth Pastor to this group of youth, you guys make me so proud that sometimes I could just cry and sometimes I do. I know that these youth had to get their character from the parents and parents know how blessed you are to have such wonderful children you should be proud. Bless you all.

I would also like to say that the adult volunteers are a true blessing because this trip could not be made without your help and dedication to the youth. And as far as the congregation, you are truly awesome in the way you rise up and support your youth in missions. This congregation is truly amazing! Whenever you get a moment where you think that this congregation is not moving or is not what you think it should be, or you believe that you need to go somewhere else, first remember that there is not perfect church and then you need to look around and realize the truly awesome people inside these walls and thank God for them. Because a church is a building but the church is people and as the church we are blessed .
