JOYFUL NOISE

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
With these words, the Bible tells us that bubbling joy and enthusiasm
are to be a part of our worship experience. Our wonderful choirs and
individual performers as well as our tremendous praise team have all
answered this call with their many talents and have provided for us many
meaningful, joyous and poignant moments.
We now have the opportunity to add to our ability to convey the many
musical and dramatic gifts that so many in our congregation possess.
Recently, the Board of Trustees and the Church Council instructed the
Finance Committee to begin a new campaign to raise funds that will
allow us to significantly enhance the audio/visual capabilities of our
sanctuary. While the exact specifications of the improvements are still
being determined, we can expect at minimum, a new sound system and
improvements to the ways we incorporate visual aides into our worship
services. Once complete, we expect our total investment to be
approximately $25,000 to $30,000.
Two years ago, I came to you with the proposition to replace all of our
old drafty windows in Georgetown Hall. Your response was amazing and we
were able to replace all the windows in less than a year and pay for
them! While the window replacement project was a necessary and vital
component of your building maintenance program, no one could suggest
that they were fun. On the other hand, our new audio/visual system will
add to our collective enjoyment of our worship service and provide
numerous opportunities to expand our ability to make a joyful noise!
Please consider a gift to enable us to complete this exciting new
project. We are hoping to have the installation complete by Christmas.
Please mail your contribution to the church or place it in the offering
plate on Sunday mornings. Be sure to indicate your check is for the
“Joyful Noise” campaign.
